hey when I put RS Games on my mac, and went to open it. It said that it couldn't be opened because I can't use apps that aren't from the app store. What can I do to play RS games on my mac?
thanks
You must enable third party applications in the privacy section of system preferences. I also think you can go into the context menu and run it from there without unlocking all apps being run. Try that first, then if that doesn't work, you can use the system preferences privacy section.
I had to do that, too. When you find the app, just hit VO SHIFT M on it, and open it that way. This will bypass the security. It will still ask you for confirmation, but you will be able to open it. It's kind of like UAC on Windows Vista/7. I actually didn't change it in System Preferences, because I like to have the comfort of knowing I have to confirm an app before it opens. You'd be surprised how much Malware uses that oversight to sneak into your system. Granted, viruses aren't as common on the Mac, but IMO, you can never be too careful. In any event, whatever you decide, you have options, now.
most viruses on the mac hit without you knowing they install, mainly via java. i'd set it so third party apps can work without having to always allow them, if you use your head you should be safe and the mac still prompts you when you download an app from the net.
thanks you guys.
I am able to install the RS game's client but setting up a user name is a pain on the mac. I do not see the create user name, any want got tips for me?
Okay, I am a dork, you need to have VO turned off when using this app if VO does not need to be turned off then the quick nav needs to be turned off. I did not relize this until yesterday when I tried again this time with success to log in to RS games.
